Kids Konserve 2011 Eco-Resolutions
The 5th "R" for Remembering

For 2011 Kids Konserve is taking a big step and introducing a 5th ‘R’! The most important ‘R’!  The fifth one being REMEMBER!

My children did a science project around the 4 ‘R’s, (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover) visiting a recycling plant and made a movie out of it.  They learned A LOT!  As I have said in the past small voices add up to big things. It got me thinking about the 4 ‘R’s’, and it seemed one was missing ~ TO REMEMBER! It simply comes down to breaking bad habits and REMEMBERING the new ones.

I purchased one box of Ziploc bags in 2010 and it is still in the drawer because I REMEMBER to grab my reusable containers and Food Kozies™ instead.  Yay!  What I need to be better at REMEMBERING is grabbing the reusable shopping bags AND bringing them into the store with me!

With more than 1 million plastic bags ending up in the trash every minute, taking reusable bags to the store is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce your carbon footprint.

In 2011 Kids Konserve will be focusing on this 5th ‘R’ and sending you eco-resolutions that you can easily REMEMBER that will make a big difference to our planet and our children’s future. For the time being here are some suggestions from eco-sites we respect:

I love the 10 green New Year’s resolutions from TreeHugger, so easy you’ll have no excuse not to start using them.  I also like the How to Go Green : New Years from Planet Green.com.  Breaking down recycling 101 and beyond.  And I especially liked the positive encouragement that Get Green Living offers with their little steps towards going green can make a difference motto.

REMEMBER on Facebook:
We will be posting tips, stories, and occasional giveaways and promos on our Facebook Fan Page, throughout 2011, so stay tuned! Happy New Year and REMEMBER your ‘R’s!
